Memorial Day with Family

We were able to drive up to Elkhart on Memorial Day and spend time with some of our family. All of my sisters were there (a rarity), my Uncle Trent and his fiance Terri was there, and my cousin Rene dropped by later on, April brought her kids (my nephews Cameron and Alec), as well as the new man in her life Tom. Brooke's boyfriend Mike grilled a lot of food, and was able to help Brooke out with the new man in their lives, their son Adrien (about 7 weeks old now). Mom was there too, but needed to go to work later on that day. We just had a great time. Most of us were outside the entire day, and played around with a frisbee, a football (if you call nerf footballs "footballs"), a flat basketball, a flat bounce ball, bad mitten rackets and a bad mitten ball-type thing. Some of us played around with these things simultaneously, making 'that' the very game. :-)

It was good to meet Terri, and to just spend time with everyone. Uncle Trent just seemed really happy, and this was a great thing to see! :) Cameron is 17 now (our baseball pro), and Alec is growing up everytime I see him. He's taking the summer off from guitar lessons, and instead is taking up viola lessons (i think). He's a super talented kid in the music arena.

Preston had a blast just hanging out with everyone outside all day long! He got extra helpings of dirt pudding (which is just chocolate pudding with vanilla pudding, with whipped topping, with crushed oreos), and I saw every bit of them in his diapers today! hahaha wow!

Adrien is growing every day! He's into 3-6 month outfits now and Brooke shared that he's been weaned off of momma and is now drinking formula and trying out baby cereal (in tiny doses). Brooke looks great I think, and she is still in the adjustment part of being a new mom.

What else can I say! This was one of the most positive and pleasant family get-togethers that I can remember us having in the last few years. :-) Wouldn't mind having another one of these. lol
